FUEL INJECTOR OR NOZZLE HOLDER FOR KIRLOSKAR AND PETTER DIESEL ENGINE A Fuel injector or Nozzle holder works in an order to locate the nozzle correctly in the combustion chamber, a holder or injector is provided which clamps screws into the cylinder head. Inside the Nozzle holder or Injector is a spring and spindle which provides the tension against the needle valve to determining the opening pressure. The spring pressure is often adjustable by an external screw and lock nut or steel shims inserted under the spring. The nozzle is held by screw cap on to a surface-ground face of the holder and an annular groove aligns with a drilling in the holder to supply fuel from the injector pipe through to the nozzle.
